Drawing and Collaging in 3-Dimensional space with steel, blind, tape, silicone, wood and cage.
Approx. 257cm x 91cm.
Find it interesting how the cage lines imitate pencil lines/tone. Viewed from the side this drawing plays with the viewers perception and comments on the transition from 2D-3D.
How to render a sculptural drawing
3-dimensional drawing/collage with orange cotton, wood, household paint and projector screen packaging.
Approx. 323cm x 152cm.
I have been pondering over this piece for a while now, there is something i dont feel connected to, it have acknowledged the fact that it seems quite nautical and monumental- but there is something else that i couldnt put my finger on.
I have realised that the orange blanket has lived a life (previously a friend’s - it may have been slept on, used to keep someone warm, ripped by accident), the white linear structure in the middle was previously a projector screen packaging (kate used the inside of it for a sculpture) therefore obtains a history to it aswell , the cube was perfectly made by someone other than myself to specific dimensions therefore I need to replace this with something else- its too perfect. imperfections are what fuels spontaneity, 3dimensional collages.
